Underlayment Question

Underlayment Question Description

I will eventually have Granite (http://tanbrown.org) Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) s installed in my kitchen, but have a few questions that were not answered when I purchased Maurizio's advice on how to purchase Granite (http://tanbrown.org) Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) s.

1) Should the underlayment for 2cm Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) s be a 5/8" or 3/4" ply. I would think 3/4" would be more rigid and (http://maplered.com) supportive if any substantial weight is on the Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) .

2) In regards to "rodding" in the sink area, How many rods should be used on the 3" front of sink portion of the Stone (http://g603.net) and (http://maplered.com) is there typically any rodding done at the back the sink area where the faucet holes are cut? If so, How many? The sink is mounted on a 36" wide peninsula Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) , so there will be roughly 11"-12" of Stone (http://g603.net) from the back of the sink to the Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) edge.

3) Are Ubatuba & Blue pearl normally resined?

4) What are your thoughts on using Granite (http://tanbrown.org) fabricators who use exclusively prefabricated Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) s as apposed to having my fabricator pick out a large slab and (http://maplered.com) fabricate it. The quotes for install on prefabs have been almost 1/2 of what a full slab type fab and (http://maplered.com) install would be. Thanks for your help
